The short version

This website is a single offer page. Without your consent it sets no cookies and measures nothing. In your browser it stores only your answer to the Google Analytics question (in the browser’s local storage), so the question does not come back on every visit; this is strictly necessary for the page to work (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). It embeds no content from third parties: fonts, images and logos come from this website’s own server. The cost calculator runs in your browser; only with your consent does Google Analytics learn that it was used, and the rounded result.

Hosting and server log files

The website is delivered by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Avenue #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. When you open a page, Vercel processes the data your browser sends for technical reasons, in particular IP address, date and time, the address requested, the page you came from (referrer) and the browser identifier.

This is needed to deliver the page and to keep it secure, for example against attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is a secure website that loads quickly.

Vercel processes this data as a processor on my behalf (Art. 28 GDPR), also in the USA. Vercel is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission has found an adequate level of data protection (Art. 45 GDPR); the EU Standard Contractual Clauses apply in addition. The data is kept only as long as these purposes require. Vercel’s privacy policy: vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy

The page is delivered over encrypted HTTPS only.

If you agree, I use Google Analytics 4, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. It shows me how many people visit the page, where they come from and what they do on it. Without your consent, Google Analytics is not loaded.

It records the pages viewed, the page you came from, clicks on the booking buttons and on email or phone links, switching the language, which sections of the page you reach, whether you use the cost calculator (with the rounded result) and whether the confirmation page was opened after a booking. It also records device type, browser, screen size and your approximate location (country, region), which Google derives from your IP address; Google Analytics 4 does not store the IP address itself. Google signals and the use of the data for advertising are switched off.

For this, Google Analytics sets the cookies _ga and ga followed by an identifier. They expire 13 months after your last visit. The data in Google Analytics is deleted after 14 months at the latest.

The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG). You can withdraw it at any time under “Privacy settings” at the bottom of the page; the Google Analytics cookies are then deleted. Google processes the data as a processor on my behalf and may also process it in the USA; Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Booking through Cal.com

The “Book a free teardown call” buttons lead to Cal.com, a booking service of Cal.com, Inc., 2261 Market Street #4382, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA. Data is processed only once you book a slot there: your name, email address, the slot you choose and, where asked, your answers to the booking questions (designers on the team, monthly output, design and AI tools in use).

I use this information to prepare and hold the call. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, because the booking is a pre-contractual step taken at your request.

Cal.com processes the data as a processor on my behalf, mainly in the USA. Cal.com is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; the EU Standard Contractual Clauses apply in addition. I delete the booking details if no engagement follows and no statutory retention duty applies. Cal.com’s privacy policy: cal.com/privacy

The call on Google Meet

The teardown call takes place on Google Meet, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Cal.com enters the booked slot with your name and email address in my Google Calendar and creates the Meet link. When you join the call, Google processes the data needed for it: your name or display name, email address, IP address, device and connection data, and sound and picture while your microphone and camera are on.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, because the call is a pre-contractual step taken at your request. Google may also process data in the USA; Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Google’s privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy

Contact by email or phone

When you write to me or call me, I process your contact details and the content of your request to answer it. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where it concerns an offer or an engagement, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. I delete these details once the request is dealt with, unless statutory retention duties, for example under commercial and tax law, require me to keep them.

Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). You can object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21). Write to alex@pixeldarts.com.

You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for me is the Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und für das Recht auf Akteneinsicht Brandenburg, Stahnsdorfer Damm 77, 14532 Kleinmachnow, Germany, lda.brandenburg.de.

Whether you have to provide data, and automated decisions

You do not have to give me any data. Without the booking details, though, I cannot arrange the call. There is no automated decision-making or profiling.
